Between Onaway and Rogers City, the Ocqueoc River winds through forests as it makes its way to Lake Huron. On this stretch of river lies lower Michigan's largest waterfall.
Working the river during late August required strict optical control. Using the RF 14–35mm at 20mm allowed me to anchor the low-angle limestone shelves while capturing the rushing water and foliage. I used my Nisi CPL and ND filter to cut the glare on the water and block the light. This allowed me to open the shutter for long exposures, smoothing the turbulent water.
